Your Freestone Frenzy Trout Tour Includes

Unleash Your Inner Adrenaline Junky

There’s something about the sound of rushing water, the sight of multi-colored rocks wavering under clear, swift currents and the thrill of an acrobatic rainbow engulfing your dry fly!  Our Freestone Frenzy Trout Tour takes you to some of the most picturesque and wonderful mid-sized freestone rivers in all of the Rocky Mountains.  You’ll float several white-water and boulder strewn rivers as you tour from Bozeman and Livingston to Big Timber, Columbus to Cody.  Rapidly fire casts with your dry fly and dry dropper combinations to structured banks and bouldered pocket-water in between descents through Class I to III white-water rapids.  The excitement really heats up as you hook-up a nice brown in the middle of one of these drops.  Hatches of PMDs, caddis, yellow sallies, golden stones and Green Drakes lure the trout to feed on the surface. Enjoy a cold beer at the Road Kill Café, dinner at the Grand Hotel in Big Timber or a steak at Montana Jack’s afterward. These action packed and visually stunningly clear freestone rivers are some of our favorite summertime fisheries!

Our guides work very hard to ensure an enjoyable trip, and we encourage you to tip accordingly. As a general rule, gratuities range from $100-$200/day/guide, although an excellent day of fishing, a memorable event, or extra effort on the guide's behalf may deserve more. Please consider that our guides work harder when fishing is slow or during adverse weather. Cash gratuities should be given directly to your guide daily or upon finishing multi-day trips.

Many variables beyond our control, like weather, wind, barometric pressure, water temperatures, and fish behavior, influence the day's fishing. There are many ways you can enjoy a guided trip beyond the fish. Please align your expectations with the conditions and your abilities. No expectations, no disappointments!

Clients frequently invite guides for drinks or dinner after fishing. Socializing is a great way to celebrate the day's events, plan the next day, and connect. While guides always appreciate the client's generosity, buying drinks and dinner are not considered part of or in lieu of gratuities. Socializing extends a guide's long and physically demanding day. Time is required before and after each day's trip for preparing, organizing, and cleaning.

If you have any concerns or are disappointed in your trip in any way, please let us know.

Weather in the Rockies is variable; watch the forecast in advance for the area you plan on fishing and pack accordingly. Visit our Gear Lists for recommendations on appropriate clothing and gear.

Cancellations by your guide, mutual guide/client decision, unsafe weather or water conditions, state or federal closures, or other uncontrollable circumstances will be refunded in full or credit applied towards a future trip.

Credits issued for future trips must be used within one year of the originally booked trip date. Credits unused after one year will be forfeited.

Greater Yellowstone Flyfishing Outfitters and its guides reserve the right to change itineraries due to unfavorable conditions or for any other reasons deemed necessary.
