Your Southwest Wyoming Trout Tour
 Includes

Seclusion. Solitude. Peace.

Enjoy fishing a menagerie of small creeks, tailwaters and freestone rivers with the Southwest Wyoming Trout Tour.  If you’re looking for solitude, few anglers, and lightly fished waters then this is the trip for you! You’ll also have the opportunity to catch three of four cutthroat subspecies that make up the Wyoming Cutthroat Slam – Bonneville, Colorado and Snake River.  If you’d like to try catching all four subspecies of cutthroats comprising the Slam (Yellowstone Cutthroat is the other) then sign up for the Wyoming Cutthroat Slam Tour. The Southwest Wyoming Trout Tour begins south of Jackson Hole where you’ll float fish the gorgeous Salt River in beautiful Star Valley of western Wyoming.  This river is fed by many spring creeks and you’ll fish dry flies and dry dropper combinations for the river’s browns, rainbows, and Snake River Fine Spotted Cutthroats.  From here you’ll head south to fish several small creeks in the Kemmerer, Wyoming area. These creeks hold rainbows, browns and two rare Cutthroat subspecies, the Bonneville and and the Colorado.  These creeks are excellent dry fly streams as well. You’ll wade while working riffles, runs and cutoff banks with attractors and terrestrials.  This area of Wyoming is a rugged complex of geological thrust faults, folds and stratigraphic variation. Next up the robust trout of the Green River below Fontenelle Dam will give you a nice change of pace as you float this superb tailwater.    Then you’ll wade fish some of the southern Wind River Range streams like the Sweetwater River near South Pass.   To close out the trip you’ll float the New Fork River near Pinedale fishing dries and streamers for the river’s large browns, rainbows and cutbows.  All the while we’ll put you up in the area’s best accommodations and share good conversations at the best steakhouses and saloons.  Looking for something different and secluded?  Try the Southwest Wyoming Trout Tour!

Our guides work very hard to ensure an enjoyable trip, and we encourage you to tip accordingly. As a general rule, gratuities range from $100-$200/day/guide, although an excellent day of fishing, a memorable event, or extra effort on the guide's behalf may deserve more. Please consider that our guides work harder when fishing is slow or during adverse weather. Cash gratuities should be given directly to your guide daily or upon finishing multi-day trips.

Many variables beyond our control, like weather, wind, barometric pressure, water temperatures, and fish behavior, influence the day's fishing. There are many ways you can enjoy a guided trip beyond the fish. Please align your expectations with the conditions and your abilities. No expectations, no disappointments!

Clients frequently invite guides for drinks or dinner after fishing. Socializing is a great way to celebrate the day's events, plan the next day, and connect. While guides always appreciate the client's generosity, buying drinks and dinner are not considered part of or in lieu of gratuities. Socializing extends a guide's long and physically demanding day. Time is required before and after each day's trip for preparing, organizing, and cleaning.

If you have any concerns or are disappointed in your trip in any way, please let us know.
